Hwange is a national park in which you will find elephants coming to drink out of the swimming pool at your campsite as you watch in awe. And the best part? There is almost no one else to share it.

When to travel
Zimbabwe’s dry season, from May to October is delightful, with mild temperatures, clear skies and low humidity. It’s also the best time for game viewing as animals move to watering holes and water levels on the Zambezi are low enough for rafting. At the end of the rainy season, around April or May, high water levels mean Victoria Falls is at its most breathtaking – be prepared to get wet! See monthly average temperatures and rainfall below for the Victoria Falls region. Please note that each countries geographic terrain varies and therefore so does the weather. There are many activities and experiences at Victoria Falls and some exceptional authentic safari locations such as Hwange and Mana Pools. A 7 to 10-day journey would provide you with a great experience of these 3 locations. We would also recommend encompassing Botswana or Zambia for a further stay of luxury and safari experience given the proximity of Victoria Falls to these neighbouring countries.
If you want to beat the crowds and visit a destination with authentically wild areas and landscapes, Zimbabwe will suit you well. Adventure seekers will find white water rafting, kayaking and bungee jumping on offer while others who want to tick the impressive Victoria Falls off the bucket list will also be rewarded.
In Zimbabwe you’ll find the imposing Victoria Falls (also known locally as The Smoke that Thunders), Hwange National Park and the Great Zimbabwe ruins.
Zimbabwe is a country where you can experience a safari adventure or spot some rare and wonderful birds. The Harare International Arts Festival roars into life each year and is a chance to celebrate and supports theatre, dance and music like a local.
Tourism is helping Zimbabwe rebuild and visitors will be welcomed with open arms and given every assistance when travelling the country. Expect very professional and experienced guides.
