When to travel

Zimbabwe’s dry season, from May to October is delightful, with mild temperatures, clear skies and low humidity. It’s also the best time for game viewing as animals move to watering holes and water levels on the Zambezi are low enough for rafting. At the end of the rainy season, around April or May, high water levels mean Victoria Falls is at its most breathtaking – be prepared to get wet!

FAQ

1. How do I get to & around Zimbabwe?

Victoria Falls international airport has direct flights from Botswana and Namibia. Charter flights services the safari locations throughout Zimbabwe from Victoria Falls. Once you are at the Falls instead of flying you can cross the bridge into Zambia by vehicle.

2. How long should I spend in Zimbabwe?

There are many activities and experiences at Victoria Falls and some exceptional authentic safari locations such as Hwange and Mana Pools. A 7 to 10-day journey would provide you with a great experience of these 3 locations. We would also recommend encompassing Botswana or Zambia for a further stay of luxury and safari experience given the proximity of Victoria Falls to these neighbouring countries.

3. Will Zimbabwe suit my travel style?

If you want to beat the crowds and visit a destination with authentically wild areas and landscapes, Zimbabwe will suit you well. Adventure seekers will find white water rafting, kayaking and bungee jumping on offer while others who want to tick the impressive Victoria Falls off the bucket list will also be rewarded.

4. What attractions and experiences can I find in Zimbabwe?

In Zimbabwe you’ll find the imposing Victoria Falls (also known locally as The Smoke that Thunders), Hwange National Park and the Great Zimbabwe ruins.

Zimbabwe is a country where you can experience a safari adventure or spot some rare and wonderful birds. The Harare International Arts Festival roars into life each year and is a chance to celebrate and supports theatre, dance and music like a local.

5. What is the overall vibe of Zimbabwe?

Tourism is helping Zimbabwe rebuild and visitors will be welcomed with open arms and given every assistance when travelling the country. Expect very professional and experienced guides.
